The relationship between individuals and their faith can often surpass even familial bonds, as one participant expressed a profound love for Jesus that exceeds their affection for parents. This sentiment resonates deeply within religious texts, notably in the Quran, where Jesus is acknowledged in various contexts.

Jesus is explicitly named 25 times in the Quran, highlighting his significance in Islamic theology, while the Prophet Muhammad appears by name only five times. Furthermore, the nineteenth chapter of the Quran honors the Virgin Mary, a distinction not afforded to any of the Prophet Muhammad's female relatives. This chapter underscores Mary's unique position, as she is the sole woman mentioned by name in the Quran and is characterized with profound reverence.

The Quran describes Mary's elevated status:

“And {mention} when the angels said, ‘O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.’” (3:42)

This acknowledgment positions Mary as a pivotal figure within Islamic tradition. Additionally, the Quran highlights a kinship between Christians and Muslims, emphasizing the cordiality found among fair-minded Christians:

“You will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, ‘We are Christians.’ That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.” (5:82)
